How well is the Nash Trax Evo Power Barrow built?

The steel frame on the Trax Evo feels strong and reassuringly rigid under pressure. There’s no flex even when pushing close to the 100kg mark, and the leg adjustment system locks quickly and firmly into place.

The waterproof control box feels like a real bonus, not a token gesture.

During testing in persistent rain, the unit stayed responsive and the internal wiring stayed completely dry. It’s one of the few barrows I’ve been able to use confidently in poor weather without covering anything up.

Everything slots together without play or wobble, and the under-barrow bags use reliable zips and a smart layout.

The one weak point is the foam on the handles, which I’d prefer to see rubberised, but it’s easy to upgrade with sleeves if needed.

How does it handle on the bank?

For its size, the Trax Evo is remarkably easy to steer. I used it fully loaded on a wet clay path and the motor kept turning steadily with no spinning or slipping. The variable speed trigger gives you a lot of fine control, which

helps when you’re navigating around bankside obstacles. The centrally positioned wheel motor makes a huge difference to how it feels when turning, the barrow tracks straight and doesn’t try to pivot awkwardly like some rear-driven setups.

If the terrain flattens out or the battery’s low, switching to manual push mode is seamless.

It doesn’t fight you or feel heavy when unpowered, which is rare for a power barrow of this capacity.

How much can it carry and store?

This barrow is built to carry serious kit. The load area extends to over 130cm when fully configured, and I had no problem fitting in a full bedchair, bivvy, bait buckets, holdalls and rod holdalls with room to spare. The under-barrow carryalls are a smart use of space.

I particularly like the large drop-in central bag, which is perfect for items like waterproofs, food or even a spare set of clothes. Everything stays protected and accessible thanks to the zipped side panels.

The frame also includes useful tie-down loops, which make strapping down awkward, long items. The only limitation is the lack of included rear wheels, but that kit can be purchased separately.

Is it good value for money?

At just under £1,000, the Nash Trax Evo isn’t cheap, but it sits in the right range for a powered model of this quality. You’re getting a well-built, waterproof, UK-friendly system that’s ready to go out of the box.

The included batteries, storage bags, and integrated controls mean you don’t need to buy loads of extras to make it functional.

And the ability to run it unpowered when needed adds versatility that saves battery life on shorter trips. For anglers who want a reliable powered setup with minimal hassle, this is a well-rounded option that justifies its price with smart design and consistent performance.
